What we do

The core function of the charity is to provide facilities for the elderly and disabled, giving them a daily healthy meal, social inclusion with others and enable them to leave the confines of their home. We pick them up from their homes using 4 minibuses which we own, bring them to the centre, where they are given a three course meal, and generally entertained, before taking them home. We are the last remaining organisation to provide this service and cover the entire South Tyneside area. The Centre also takes referrals from Social services, Age Concern and the local CVS. The Centre caters for over 120 members a week. They are also taken once a month on a shopping trip and weekly on a day trip out, weather permitting. The majority of our users suffer from dementia and mobility problems which confine them to their homes.
We also have 2 large halls, a classroom and lounge to hire out to subsidise our work.
